Install a sheetrock sheet to the ceiling with no effort
Last winter, I finished a ceiling in my basement. To install the sheetrock to the ceiling, I built a frame with 2x4 studs with an horizontal piece attached with hinges on the top and a piece of 2x4 at the bottom attached with a hinge and used as a folding leg.
The leg is shorter than the ceiling height.
The horizontal piece is screwed to the ceiling or to the wall with two screws. The screws must be properly secured to a joist or a stud. The sheetrock sheet is then installed on the frame as shown in the picture bellow.
The sheetrock sheet is then lifted to the ceiling and the leg serves as a support to hold it in place. The sheet is then slided in position and little pieces of woods are used as spacers between the frame and the sheet and under the leg to adjust the sheet as close as possible to the ceiling (see pictures).
The sheet is then screwed in place. The frame is brought down and re-installed for the next sheet. I did all my ceiling with no effort and almost no cost.
